Happy Birthday Kassy!

Our baby girl turned 2 today! We are so thankful everyday that she is ours. Her birthmom, L, made a huge sacrifice to allow her to go live with people she didn't know very well in a place very far away. L made a choice not to parent Kassy, not because she didn't love her, but because she loved her. We visited L last weekend for a short time, and it was fun to be able to have Kassy "show off". I love hearing L and her family talk about who Kassy looks like and enjoy watching her play with the "Hey, Diddle Diddle" doll that L gave her for her birthday. Kassy's life certainly looks different from how I envision that it would have been had L chosen to parent, but then, so does mine, and I like it that way!

To celebrate Kassy's special day, we went to the Children's Museum and took dinner to Allen's office. We had "kakashka" (a yummy Russian cookie that David, Kassy and I made) and cookies for dessert. I stuck candles in two of the kakashkas and Kassy knew immediately that she was supposed to blow them out! Aunt G helped her.

Happy birthday, Chickadee! We are very proud and thankful that God chose you to be our forever daughter. We love you! XO XO XO XO
