Dear Jesus
David does a fabulous job of praying before we eat : "Dear Jesus, thank you for this food. Amen!" and we pray with him before bedtime. Sunday night as I was getting ready to pray with David before he went to sleep, we were talking about some of the things we can be thankful for. I said, "We can thank God that you have a nice warm bed to sleep in rather than having to sleep outside in the snowbank. That wouldn't be any fun, right?" David replied, "Yeah, it would!" But he prayed, "Dear Jesus, thank you for my bed. Amen." I was really proud of him. So today, as he was washing his hands at the sink, he said, "Dear Jesus, thank you for my mommy and daddy." I was suprised (and pleased!) that he "prayed" that I told him I was going to cry. I tried to explain that sometimes people cry because they are happy. At bedtime tonight he prayed, "Dear Jesus, thank you for my mommy and daddy. Are you going to cry?" This time I was crying because I was laughing!
